The title “Actus magnus” translated from Latina means “The Great Action”.
“Actus magnus” – public institution was established in 2004. The aim of “Actus magnus” – organization of various cultural and art events.
In the year 2008-2012 in the epicenter of Vilnius old town we were running art gallery “Actus magnus” that was presenting modern and contemporary art. There were various exhibitions (graphic, painting, photography) of established and young Lithuanian and foreign artists presented. “Actus magnus” gallery was famous for its cozy atmosphere and well preserved authentic spirit of Vilnius old town. There were various art educational projects and other cultural events happening in the gallery. The tunnel leading to the gallery from Pilies street and the area of the yard in front of the gallery were also used for art purposes – we had exhibitions there or other cultural events (concerts, dance perfomances).

Since year 2012 public institution “Actus magnus” changed orientation – from organising exhibitions in Lithuania in our gallery we are looking for new challenges in organising art projects abroad.
